BULK ITEM DROP-OFF EVENT IS SEPTEMBER 29-30

Broken grill taking up space in the garage? Old microwave in the basement you need to toss? The fall bulk drop-off event for all City of Hopkins residents is Friday, September 29, from 3 to 7 p.m., and Saturday, September30, from 9 a.m. to noon. For $20, plus taxes, you can drop off one appliance and up to three cubic yards worth of trash (the equivalent of one pick-up truck load). Additional appliances are $20, plus taxes, each. Find more information about the drop-off event.

Sunday Open Skates at the Pavilion Return October 1

Sunday Open Skates are back at the Pavilion beginning Sunday, October 1. Bring your whole family and skate from 1 to 2:30 pm. No sticks or pucks allowed. All Open Skates are $5 for adults, $4 for seniors and students, and free for kids under 5. New this year: ice skates available for rental. Learn more about ice activities at the Pavilion.

ACTIVE AGING WEEK IS OCTOBER 2-6

Explore the variety of ways the Hopkins Activity Center has to support your wellness journey during Active Aging Week October 2-6, ending with a Health Fair on Friday, October 6, from 10 a.m. to noon. Active Aging Week events include free trial fitness class (Tai Chi for Health and Walking for Wellness), educational presentations with Helping Paws therapy dogs, an introduction to CBD wellness products, and a time of discovering how daily health habits can have dramatic effects on cognitive abilities as we age. NATIONAL COFFEE WITH A COP DAY IS OCTOBER 4

Join officers from the Hopkins Police Department for coffee and conversation on Wednesday, October 4, from 9 to 11 a.m., at Amy's Cupcake Shoppe, 701 Mainstreet. As part of National Coffee with a Cop day, the department invites you to ask questions, voice concerns, show your support and get to know the police officers in your city.
