Community Garden Plot Registration is April 3Registration for community garden plots begins for Hopkins residents on Wednesday, April 3, at 8 a.m. Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis (limit two plots per household). Residents must provide proof of residency and register in-person at Hopkins City Hall, 1010 First Street S. Non-residents may register beginning Friday, April 5. Receive Help With Your Home Down PaymentHomebuyers can now qualify for assistance to make a down payment on their first home in Hennepin County. In collaboration with Hennepin County, NeighborWorks Home Partners launched a down payment assistance program for residents buying homes in Hennepin County. The Hennepin County Housing and Redevelopment Authority (HCHRA) created and designed the Homebuyer Assistance Program to reduce racial disparities in homeownership. As the program administrator, NeighborWorks Home Partners will provide down payment financing to assist buyers interested in purchasing a home to have as their principal place of residence in Hennepin County. Connections to Come from listserv@civicplus Email Beginning in AprilIn early 2024, Google and Yahoo implemented a new email delivery rule to primarily target senders of bulk emails. CivicPlus, the City of Hopkins website provider, falls within the scope of this rule. Due to this change and the authentication requirements that come along with this, the City will no longer be able to send Connections through the custom "City of Hopkins" email address. Beginning in April, Connections will be sent from the listserv@civicplus.com email address. If you have any questions about this change, contact Communications Manager Kelsey Baumann. |
