90th Annual Raspberry Festival Begins July 17

The 90th Annual Hopkins Raspberry Festival kicks-off on Wednesday, July 17. Fan-favorite events not to be missed include the Hunt for the Golden Raspberry, the Marketplace Fair, Raspberry Jam in Central Park and the Grande Day Parade. View the full list of Raspberry Festival events. 


Sunset Series' PaviElle French Concert is July 18

The Sunset Series continues Thursday, July 18, with R&B artist PaviElle French at 7 p.m. in Downtown Park. All Sunset Series concerts are free and open to the public. Find more information about The Sunset Series, including the summer series' line-up, on the Hopkins Center for the Arts website. 


Hopkins Electric Vehicle Petting Zoo and Sustainability 
Event is July 20

Mark your calendars for Saturday, July 20, for the Raspberry Festival's Marketplace Fair! New this year, the City will be helping to host a Sustainability Showcase from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Mainstreet between 14th and 15th Avenues featuring:

  • An Electric Vehicle Petting Zoo: Local owners will have their electric cars on display and answer any questions you may have about them. Access Hopkins will have e-bikes on display and be available to answer questions. There will even be a fully electric school bus!
  • Hopkins Public Works will be showcasing their electric landscaping equipment and Zamboni
  • City staff will be sharing info on the newly adopted Hopkins Energy Action Plan and other sustainability initiatives being led by the City.

The Depot Youth Advisory Board's Freight Fest is July 20

Join the Depot Youth Advisory Board for Freight Fest on Saturday, July 20, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the Depot Coffee House. The event includes live music on the outdoor stage, a variety of student and adult craft vendors, food trucks and more for all ages.


Recycling Resources and Grants for Small Businesses and Nonprofit Organizations

Hennepin County provides funding and assistance for businesses and organizations to start or improve programs to divert recyclables and/or organics. Eligible recipients include for-profit businesses and organizations, including multifamily housing, and non-profit organizations. Hennepin County offers free containers and compostable bags, signage, waste prevention grants, and rebates to reduce single-use plastic for food businesses. Free energy consulting and rebates for Hopkins businesses

Businesses in Hopkins may be eligible for free energy efficiency consulting and enhanced rebates through Center for Energy and Environment's (CEE) One-Stop Efficiency Shop, sponsored by Xcel Energy. Starting with a free energy assessment, the One-Stop team can help your businesses find ways to reduce operating costs and earn rebates through practical lighting, HVAC, and refrigeration upgrades.
