Celebrate Healthy Aging at the Activity Center August 21

Aging with grace is the goal of living long and living well. Come see how the Hopkins Activity Center can enhance your life with engaging educational, social and fitness activities at their Senior Citizens Day events on Wednesday, August 21: 

  • At 9:30 a.m., meet and greet members of the Hopkins Police Department at the Coffee with a Cop event, and stay for a sweet treat.
  • At 2 p.m., be entertained by the musical talents of the Aquatennial Senior Choir, and enjoy a tasty ice cream treat.

Sunset Series Rogue Valley Concert is August 22

The final Sunset Series concert of the summer is Thursday, August 22, with indie rock group Rogue Valley at 7 p.m. in Downtown Park. All Sunset Series concerts are free and open to the public. Community Image Award Nomination Deadline is August 23

Do you know someone in Hopkins who has made significant improvements to their property in the past year? The City is seeking nominations for the 2024 Community Image Awards. The City of Hopkins' Community Image Awards honor property owners and business owners whose pride shines through their property. Property improvements include landscaping, accessibility improvements, lighting, signs or exterior improvements. Learn more about the program and submit a nomination. The deadline to submit a nomination is Friday, August 23. 


Now Hiring: Public Works Maintenance Worker - Parks

The City is hiring a Public Works Maintenance Worker in the Parks Division. Responsibilities include grounds, park, indoor and outdoor playground, and other facilities maintenance duties; operating, maintaining, and performing minor repairs on a variety of light and heavy vehicles, equipment, and machines; and setup/knockdown of special events. The position is full-time, with an hourly salary range of $29.93-$40.43. Learn more and apply online. 


Energy and Water Efficiency Rebate Applications Open

The City of Hopkins is accepting rebate applications for two programs. The Hopkins Climate Solutions Fund offers incentives for residential, business, and commercial projects to accelerate our transition to cleaner and more efficient energy. The Water Efficiency Rebate program offers rebates to improve water efficiency when an existing product is replaced with an eligible WaterSense or Energy Smart certified product. This program is offered in partnership with the Metropolitan Council and the Clean Water, Land and Legacy Amendment. Learn more about the two programs and apply online.
