Summer Recreation Registration Begins March 4

Summer recreation program registration begins on Tuesday, March 4, for general recreation, Thursday, March 6, for senior programs and Tuesday, March 18, for ice skating. Visit minnetonkamn.gov/register to browse program options and choose from an array of activities including summer camps, swimming lessons, skating lessons, fitness classes, arts and crafts, athletic leagues and senior programs. Register online at minnetonkamn.gov/register or call between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Indoor Senior Golf League Begins March 11

Get game ready for golf season with a fun indoor golf league for seniors. The Hopkins Activity Center has partnered with The Tee Box, a newly opened indoor golf venue in Hopkins. Together, they will be offering a senior adult indoor league on Tuesdays from 10 a.m. until 12:30 p.m., beginning March 11 through May 13. Hopkins Academy Applications Now Open

Join us for Hopkins Academy! This is a free opportunity to go behind the scenes of City departments across Hopkins and learn more about how your community works. This four-session course will give you an in-depth look into City departments and programs. Hopkins Academy is designed to be interactive, as well as fun and informative. To be eligible, you must reside and/or work in Hopkins, and must not have attended the academy in previous years. Find more information and apply online.


Spring Plant Sale Fundraiser Now Open

Are you dreaming about the coming of spring and lovely blooming plants? Here is an opportunity to begin planning your garden by purchasing beautiful plants from Gertens, with proceeds supporting the Hopkins Activity Center and Hopkins Center for the Arts. Choose from perennials, annuals, veggies and more. To order plants visit gertensfundraising.com and enter Store ID 928. At checkout, note the "Seller's Name" as either the Hopkins Activity Center or the Hopkins Center for the Arts. Plant pick-up will be Saturday, May 10, from 9 to 11 a.m., at the Community Garden Plots at Valley Park. The deadline to order is March 31 at 8 p.m. Questions? Applications Open for Public Art Advisory Committee

The Hopkins Public Art Advisory Committee is comprised of residents, business owners, and City staff who are practicing artists, art professionals, and those interested in public art. The committee advises the City on public art programs and projects, such as the Hopkins mural program. Individuals who live or work in Hopkins who have an interest in art, are practicing artists, and business owners enthusiastic about public art are encouraged to apply. Learn more and apply online.
