Hopkins Rail Facility for Green Line ExtensionConstruction for Metro Transit's Green Line Extension Hopkins Rail Support Facility (HRSF) began in the summer of 2024. The facility is now approximately 60 percent complete. The structural steel frame, floor systems and initial hardscapes (including curb and gutter, sidewalks, and parking area) have been finished. The HRSF is located south of the Shady Oak Station near the midpoint of the new 14.5-mile Green Line Extension corridor in Hopkins. Unlike standard Operations and Maintenance facilities, which focus on maintaining LRT vehicles, the HRSF is specifically designed to support maintenance of the tracks, traction power, signal and communication systems. Learn more about progress on the HRSF here.
