Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy
Home Energy Squad
Residents can schedule a visit with the Home Energy Squad to review ways to improve your home’s efficiency and save money.
- Residents who rent, condo owners and owners of newer houses (build in 2000 or after) can schedule an energy saver visit for $35
- Owners of hours built before 2000 can schedule an energy planner visit for $50
- Any resident can take advantage of a free virtual visit.

Hopkins Climate Solutions Fund
The City of Hopkins is offering incentives to residents and businesses to accelerate our transition to cleaner and more efficient energy. Leveraging electric utility rebates and federal incentives, this program will help to reduce upfront costs associated with replacing energy equipment and installing renewable energy systems.

Water Efficiency Rebate Program
In partnership with the Metropolitan Council and the Clean Water, Land and Legacy Amendment, the City of Hopkins is offering rebates on eligible Energy Smart or WaterSense certified products that replace existing equipment. Rebates may be granted to residential and commercial property owners.

Transportation and Mobility
Electric Bicycle Incentive Program
With partnership from the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency, the City of Hopkins is offering incentives for electric bicycles. By incentivizing e-bikes, this program will foster a culture of sustainable mobility, reduce reliance on fossil fuels, and enhance the quality of life for residents and businesses alike. Residents, including homeowners and renters, and commercial entities may apply for this program.
